Samsung vs iPhone 6S

Only two days after Apple divulged its new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung as of now has a commercial that insults them for their absence of Wireless charging, while all the while advancing the new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+.
Samsung has officially taken to Twitter to ridicule Apple for the length of its iPhone 6s keynote, yet its new promotion takes swipes at Cupertino's most recent cell phones themselves. They're not the first Samsung advertisements to ridicule the iPhone, obviously, and they positively won't be the last.
In the 30-second clasp, Samsung highlights the Wireless charging abilities of its most recent phablets, then demonstrates a dead iPhone 6 Plus being set on its remote accusing cushion of no outcomes.
The clasp closes with the slogan "It's not a Phone, it's a Galaxy," which is clearly a play on Apple's "If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone" crusade.

Given that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus aren't on available yet, Samsung more likely than not utilized a year ago's iPhone 6 Plus in this advertisement — yet it's still legitimate, on the grounds that the new iPhones don't have remote charging, either. Being said that Do you really need Wireless Charging?

Most of you hunting to get your hands on Samsung’s latest Galaxy S III smartphone will noneffervescent be inactivity, but courtesy of the illogical folks over at XDA, it's already been rooted. As was the case with the Galaxy S, S II and the larger-than-life Galaxy Note, it doesn't love a locked bootloader, so the duty of acquiring root was automatically that kickshaw easier.

Samsung could possess prefabricated it tight for the hackers and devs to get into the Android innards, but have done the community a real service by shipping the device with an unlocked bootloader. Many OEMs love to play hard-ball, but the Korean circle doesn't seem altogether bothered with what users do with a device erstwhile it's been paid for - as it should be.

GALAXY-S-III-Product-Image-3_B2

While, as stated, we don't approximate numerous of you will be in possession of a Galaxy S III right yet, it’s good to have the information out there so you can get a compound intent of the steps attached when you eventually do get your paws on the Samsung's first quad-core effort.

Step 2: Download ODIN 1.85, which we’ll be using to flash the insecure kernel.

Step 3: Once you’ve download both, extract using the archiving tool of your choice. I use WinRar, but if you’ve done this before, you’ll probably have your utility of choice already installed.

Step 4: After extracting the kernel, you’ll be left with a .tar file.

Step 5: Place your device into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Power / Lock buttons simultaneously, and pressing Volume Up when prompted.

Step 6: Run ODIN, connect your device to your PC via USB, and within ODIN, click on PDA and select the .tar file you extracted from the insecure kernel.

Step 9: Your insecure root allows adb root commands, but won’t enable your apps to get superuser access; thus, you’ll need to install SuperSU.

After months of scuttlebutt and hypothesis, Samsung's brand-new Galaxy S device has eventually been showcased to the mankind via London, and yes, it is titled the Samsung Galaxy S III.

Having been painstakingly obscured from the open eye, it's finally been unveiled, and for what it's couturier, looks suspiciously related to Apple's iPhone 4S. Of instruction, Apple faculty apt charge it of existence a stark rip-off of its flagship device - that, it most sure isn't - but the striking resemblance is an humorous sophisticate, assumption that Samsung overtook its painful rival to transmute the confine one smartphone producer for Q1 2012.

GALAXY-S-III-Product-Image-2_B

Theory demanded a fireball, and with the Korean troupe having already declared the device to be boxing a quad core 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor, the accompanying features were always going to be upright as prodigal. The display is Samsung's own 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED HD, and judging by what we can see, it's beautifully crisp. The unbroken relation to a inebriated grade display is, of row, a sharp snapper, and Samsung has delivered the artifact with an 8-megapixel camera. As we bed, a there's solon to a camera than simply the pixel count, but again, the previews declare the galore trillions of photo-loving Android users are in for a plow with the Samsung Galaxy S III.

GALAXY-S-III-Product-Image-8_B

With 1GB of RAM supplementary to the bust, it's unhurt to say those using the Galaxy S III are seldom going to be encountering any lag, and you have to consider somewhat for the device's battery, which present somebody the unenviable chore of ownership all this robust instrumentality sound over.

As expectable, the device comes with 4G LTE technology, sanctionative lighting-quick cellular connections, and at fair 8.6 millimeters thick, it's one of the slimmest Android devices on the market.

GALAXY-S-III-Product-Image-1_B

Billed by Samsung as the"best in class smartphone in the world," it is formerly again sheathed in plastic, and though it is not said to search as cheap as other Samsung models, it isn't a lucifer in attribute for, say, the HTC One X - a device to which it module doubtless move large comparisons with. Samsung claims it "it feels like ceramic," but unluckily, those who've encountered it beg to dissent. Still, the sheeny finish is a lot stronger than we're victimized to from the Korean outfit, so those dreaded scratches should be downbound to a peak.

GALAXY-S-III-Product-Image-5_W

The Samsung-manufactured, Google-branded Galaxy Nexus was the unalterable device to truly seek whatsoever outlook from the Andoid Community, though regrettably, the device didn't quite smouldering up to its billing. Despite beingness the eldest to officially offering Android's current Ice Emollient Sandwich (4.0) OS, its tenuous, ungenerous designing was its Achilles heel.

GALAXY-S-III-Product-Image-3_B

I've seen soft from the Samsung Galaxy S III to be rattling emotional by, however it's large, thinner, and outstrip than its predecessor, so by good, should prolong the immense success brought on by the Samsung Galaxy S II.

It will launch in Europe first before trickling out crosswise 145 countries, and Samsung has addicted that it has partnered with a total of 296 mobile operators for it's torch-bearing device - rendering it the largest launch Samsung's history. The first batch of devices module permit either 16GB or 32GB of space, though it has been confirmed a 64GB model will be added soon after.

After months of hypothesis as to when Samsung would unveil its often sought-after Coltsfoot S III smartphone, counsel invites hit now been dispatched out for the May 3 circumstance in Writer, UK.

In an undisguised effort to force more share (if it was ever required), the device isn't explicitly named for the observance referred to as "Samsung Mobile Unpacked" in which those welcome can "Locomote and manage the close Beetleweed."

The event module commence from 7pm BST (2pm ET), and gift doubtless sap some of the media's attending. Beside the potency of Apple releasing a new iPhone this year, the Samsung Coltsfoot S III is easily the most sought sound in the gadgetsphere, and with specified an powerful Galaxy of specs, it's not too knotty to see why.

Galaxy-S-3-Logo1
From what we've gathered heretofore, the device present permit a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, a 2-megapixel front facing camera for video calling, with the primary camera boasting 8 megapixels. While we await 4G LTE connectivity, it remains to be seen whether the ceramic casing - hard tipped by a show of sources - will completion of the device. Android devices in miscellaneous fuck been criticized for their flashy outermost materials, so a instrumentality out would tidy the device see a lot author sturdy, while also adding a fashion of teaching. Meanwhile, the obdurate is supposed to be a  4.6-4.8-inch Super AMOLED Plus 1280 x 720 display - the unvaried finding as seen on the Google Galaxy Nexus.

Galaxy-S-III-invite

But, at one point we flat huge sponsors of the Olympic Games, it was ever presumed England would be the locating for the promulgation of the device. Whilst we can realize why the Koran LCD expert has followed Apple's lesson in meticulously transporting masked prototypes, we don't wait the device to copy Apple's "New iPad" way by not decently naming it. We've presumed the device instrument be called the Galaxy S III, and if Samsung wants consumers to set with it as the resultant to its Galaxy S II - the most hot Android device to day - then dynamical its family would certainly flurry consumers.

S3
Then again, trespasser things jazz happened, so I venture we'll tally to inactivity and see what Samsung has prearranged amount May 3rd.

Samsung ChatON App Now Available For BlackBerry, Android Version Updated For Tablets – Download Now!

Samsung’s entry into the mobile chat arena, ChatON is now available on all BlackBerry devices. To add to its Android compatibility, Samsung has also brought a tablet optimized version to the Google Play market which offers an improved experience for those using tablets powered by the Ice Cream Sandwich and Honeycomb flavors of Android.

Currently used by few people – around one million downloads for Android compared to ten times that number for its closest competitor, WhatsApp – ChatON is Samsung’s cross-platform instant messaging app. With an iOS version released in January, joining the Android version which was made available back in October, ChatON is now available for all BlackBerry handsets having been compatible with the Torch smartphone before the latest release.

hi-256-0-bcda291f4605aa3fd1408a378d30dbcc43eae330

n order to give the app as much of a chance to take a foothold in the instant messaging space, Samsung also offers two version of ChatON in web app form. Both touch-enabled and standard versions of the web app are available for those that wish not to download a dedicated app for their online instant messaging.

With BBM, or BlackBerry Messenger already the big player for RIM’s BlackBerry devices, and iOS now featuring iMessage as its built-in alternative to SMS, many have been wondering whether existing instant messaging apps have much of a shelf life left. Now Samsung has released versions of its app across all the major platforms alongside two web apps, the Korean company has given ChatON as much as a fighting chance as it could expect. Whether many will give the app a chance, let alone move to it wholesale as well as pushing their friends to do the same, remains to be seen.

Those with a BlackBerry PlayBook will also be disappointed. There is currently no native app for RIM’s tablet machine, though with sales being minimal it is fair to say that the number of people disappointed by the app’s no-show will be few.

With the proliferation of instant messaging apps now available for all platforms, one guaranteed loser here has to be the carrier. Previously seen as something of a cash cow for carriers, SMS is now all but obsolete for many with smartphones thanks to its free alternatives. Carriers will now need to find another avenue for its absorbent prices.

Oh, there’s still data.

LINE Camera For Android

Although most of today’s smartphones pack some pretty mean specs and performance when it comes to taking photos, as we should have learned from the unprecedented rise of Instagram, taking the shot is indeed only half of the fun.

Not content with the ability to take wonderfully-crisp, high-resolution images on-the-fly, we also take great pleasure in editing them to the nth degree. Whether we’re adding a border, a toaster effect, or doing our level best to revert it back to the retro days, there are scores of apps in both the Google Play Store and App Store catering to our incessant need to tinker.

LINE-Camera

LINE-camera-splash

For those uninitiated with LINE, perhaps a little background info is warranted. LINE is a free calling and messaging service, allowing those precious minutes and SMS allowances to be spared between two devices running the LINE application.

This camera app is integrated with the service, and once you’ve taken a snap, you can edit it using some of the expansive feature pallet before sharing with others. There are many different effects, with some being a lot easier on the eye than others. No matter what your taste may be, there’s something in there for everyone. From frames to stamps, filters to brushes, you can decorate your photo until you’re blue in the face, and if you’re a fan of memes and rage faces, there are plenty of those in there, too.

unnamed22unnamed-213

Another recurring feature of these image applications is the social plugin, and LINE camera doesn’t break the mold in that respect, either. You can share your creations with likeminded folk on the LINE, or you can post via Facebook, Twitter, mixi, weibo, Cyworld or me2day.

To end on a good note, LINE camera is absolutely free of charge, and available to download right now over at the recently renamed Google Play Store for Android. We recommend that you give LINE camera a shot, it’s a fun app to use and will keep you busy for a handful of minutes while you’re in that photography mode.

Proxy Browser For Android Lets You Browse Blocked Sites

Proxy Browser is a new third party browsing app for Android that makes it easier for people on restrictive Wi-Fi networks to access the data and services they want, right from their smartphone or Android tablet device.

Blocked websites on public networks can often be an irritating problem. Whether you are away at college and find some websites like Facebook or YouTube are blocked, or in a foreign country where social networks and Google are prohibited, finding a way around such road blocks can be a big problem.

Proxy-Browser

A new Android app aims to make the process of bypassing such blocks as easy as possible. Called Proxy Browser and costing absolutely nothing, the app offers a web browser which makes accessing YouTube, Facebook and Google as easy as it should be – putting an address in an address bar, that’s about it.

Privacy browser is an android browser developed by Smartwebs Innovations to help the android users to unblock the websites blocked by the college wireless networks and also to unblock the sites blocked in the country. This app is 100% compatible with Facebook mobile and YouTube.

The app itself offers some more features, too, which may be of use to some depending on what they are looking for. According to the app’s developer, Proxy Browser will make your IP address invisible to those who are looking for it, as well as removing your browsing history instantly. By using proxy servers, Proxy Browser effectively makes you invisible as you go about your business across the web.

unnamed19

unnamed-16

Tellingly, the app’s developers point out that they will not be held responsible for how its users take advantage of Proxy Browser, suggesting they are well away of its possible nefarious uses.

That said, if you just need a way to get around blocked websites, or perhaps need to change your browser’s user agent to access some online video content, then Proxy Browser could well be the app to check out. For the bargain price of free, there’s no real reason to not give it a try.

A note for those that don’t like the ads in Proxy Browser, too – there is an ad-free version available to download from Google Play Store, should that tickle your fancy.

File Explorer For Android Receives Major Update

If you want to get the most from your device – no matter what the brand or platform is – the chances are, you’re going to need a file explorer of some description.

File Explorer by Apposite Designs has made a name for itself as being one of the speediest, cleanest and least buggy of them all, and after a recent update, can now proudly proclaim to be Ice Cream Sandwich-ready.

It’s no-frills, no-fuss, and straight to the point. Completely open-source, this file manager isn’t bogged own by any ads – yet still remains completely free.

File-Explorer-Android-logo

File-Explorer-Android-splash

The developer has promised Gmail integration in the near future for those running older versions of android, as well as an unzipping function. Meanwhile, the Ice Cream Sandwich iteration will soon boast multi-select, widgets, and other exciting, unspecified bits and pieces.

There are a great many file managers available for Android, with ES and Astro being the two standouts. While File Explorer is quite a way off the built-in file viewer, FTP client, and app management features of ES, it certainly has potential.

unnamed9

There area variety of reasons why it’s always useful to have a decent file explorer on board. Aside from allowing you to install .apk files, you can also use them to remove those lingering not-quite-uninstalled files residing on your SD card. Without a file manager, you’ll find it difficult to move files around, and if you are unsure as to whether a certain file is stored on your device, you can quickly source it without the need to connect to a PC.

As I’ve said, it’s completely free, and you’d be hard pressed to find a cleaner file manager for your Android device. The developer seems buoyant and keen to keep the app moving forward – which itself is a positive sign. Too many decent apps are abandoned by those who create them – leaving users somewhat stranded – but that doesn’t appear as though it will be the case in this instance.

New Malware For Android Can Take Images, Record Calls And Send GPS Coordinates To Remote Servers

Out of all the advantages of having an open-source platform, an obvious caveat is the increased threat to security which can arise.

Although the number of Android users affected by malware has been relatively low, the platform has taken a bit of a hiding in the blogosphere, and if today’s findings are anything to go by, the trend shows little sign of petering out.

Another Security firm has found fresh new Android malware in the wild, this time controlled via SMS. The unscrupulous individuals behind the malware have explored many avenues in order to compromise the security measures and infiltrate users’ devices – even going via Facebook – and this is one of the first we’ve seen to spread via text messages. It’s been reported that this latest malware can perform numerous tasks once inside a device, such as recording calls and surrounding noise.

Android-messaging-logo

It’s called TigerBot, and has only very recently been discovered whilst circulating through unofficial Android channels. NQ Mobile, the security firm taking center stage, has, along with researchers based at the North Carolina State University carried out in-depth studies into the code, and reckons TigerBot can quite easily record noise in the areas around where the device is situated, as well as sensitive calls.

Additionally – and perhaps more worryingly – it can also alter network settings, record GPS coordinates, capture images (and upload them to a remote server) kill processes, and reboot the device.

Once inside the device, it hides itself behind an apparently legitimate icon on the device’s home screen. Once it is installed and becomes active, it simply registers a receiver with a high priority to listen to “android.provider.Telephony.SMS_RECEIVED.”

The findings are quite frightening indeed. Privacy is one of the pivotal concerns of consumers, and the thought of a device being so deeply compromised will send a chill down the spine of many an Android user.

At this point in time, there is little cause for panic – this malware is not spreading like wildfire. However, it does exist, and if it were to begin spreading, there would be huge concern.

The best way to avoid running into TigerBot – or indeed any other form of malware – to use common sense; i.e stay away from application requests from unknown sources, and stick to legitimate sources when downloading apps.

Toggle Different System Settings From Notification Drop-Down Bar

One of the mutually annoying traits of both Android and iOS is the fact that one has to leave an app in order to change basic settings.

If you want to adjust the brightness, turn on Wi-Fi or place your device into Airplane Mode, you need to stop what you’re doing, go into settings, and adjust accordingly. For all the slick advertising of both Google and Apple, this is not what you’d call an example of a seamless experience, by any stretch of the imagination.

Thankfully, the third-party developer tends to fill in where the stock offerings lack, and TogglePanel by Seifsoft does exactly that in this case. Upon installing, you will be able to quickly and easily toggle settings and radios from the notification drop down panel, meaning you’ll never need to leave an app again.

If you’ve ever used the Cydia tweak SBSettings on an iOS device, this could be seen as an Android alternative to that. With a simple swipe of the status bar, one can toggle just about any setting, and has proved to be the most sought-after first app following a jailbreak.

TogglePanel-icon

TogglePanel-splash

Currently, TogglePanel’s list of toggles is none too expansive, offering Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi radio, Bluetooth radio, background sync, brightness and auto-rotation.

It also offers GPS, although as the developer points out, most Android devices only allow GPS to be toggled from within the System Settings, in-keeping with Android’s security policies. Your device falls under this umbrella, the GPS toggle will redirect you to the relevant screen.

In order to get started with TogglePanel, your device will need to be running Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0 or higher). Unfortunately, if your device is still languishing on Gingerbread, you’ll need to check out one of the decent alternatives, such as WidgetSoid.

unnamed8

More updates are promised in the near future, and we’d certainly say this app shows great promise. We’re always on the lookout for apps to make the Android experience just that little bit simpler, and TogglePanel certainly fits into that category.

It only costs a dollar, and will save you a lot of time whilst in-app, rendering it a good long-term investment.

How to Install HTC One V ICS 4.0.3 ROM On Your Desire S / HD

The HTC One V is still a fairly new arrival to the market, and although it’s by no means a pile-driver in the smartphone industry, its 3.7-inch display, 1GHz single-core processor, 5-megapixel camera, and Beats Audio enhancements, inside a svelte 10 millimeters unibody render it a pretty decent package – especially given the $370 handset-only price tag.

Whenever a new device hits the market, the software devs usually swiftly get to porting its software through to similar devices running on the same OEM, and the One V is no exception to the rule.

proxuser, a frequently-mentioned member of XDA-Developers, has ported the One V’s ROM over to the HTC Desire S / HD. As is commonly the case at this early stage, the ROM is quite rough around the edges, although with such a rich community, input and feedback from users and fellow developers will surely see the bugs ironed out quickly.

desire-s-desire-hd

At present, the camera, Wi-Fi Hotspot and USB Tethering are not functioning, and if you feel you can cope without those features (we highly recommend using a spare device), then we have the tutorial on-hand:

DISCLAIMER: SanjeevRules will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide. Proceed at your own risk.

Step 1: Download the flashable .zip file from here.

Step 2: Once downloaded, place it under the /sdcard directory of your Desire S or Desire HD and power your device down.

Step 3: Initiate ClockWorkMod Recovery by holding Volume Up + Power.

Step 4: Take a nandroid backup.

Step 5: From main menu, perform a factory reset  (wipe cache partition and from the advancedmenu, opt for wipe Dalvik cache.

Step 6: Go back to the main menu. Do install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard and select the downloaded .zip file you placed on your SD Card in Step 1.

Step 7: Once the firmware has been flashed, do a reboot system now.

And that’s it! If all has gone swimmingly, you will have successfully ported the HTC One V’s Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.3) ROM to your HTC Desire S/HD.

If you do encounter any trouble along the way, be sure to check out the original threads on XDA Developers. (Desire S / Desire HD)

Use Gestures To Change Brightness On Your Android Device [VIDEO]

Gesture based implementation is not only extremely useful for adding additional functions in areas otherwise bereft, but it also adds a wonderful touch of finesse to proceedings.

The four finger iPad scroll gesture is one of my personal favorites – cancelling out the tiresome rigmarole of app interchange. Aside from iOS, though, Android devices also offer some neat little gesture-based modifications, and today’s featured app offers easy, covert, in-app brightness control by means of a simple gesture.

InvisiBright, created by developer Dan Girshovich, is brightness adjustment utility allowing increase or decrease of brightness from inside any app. Simply activate, then use swipe or tilt to adjust the brightness of a screen.

Girshovich bills it as a great way to save battery, which is true; although personally, I also find that some apps and games do require a certain level of brightness, whilst others don’t necessarily need the added glow. With an app like InvisiBright on the back-burner, you needn’t have to worry either way. Here’s a little video demonstration:

There is also a Pro version, which boasts a near-flawless feedback rating with 36 of the 37 reviewers offering the full five stars. While the free version offers status bar shortcuts, tilt and touch modes and "highly customizable preferences", the Pro edition offers a plethora of appealing additional features, naturally. These include:

  • Search key hold shortcut
  • Translucent Slide Pad
  • Home screen shortcuts
  • A[n] quick auto-brightness toggle

The app has been knocking about for a while now, thus compatibility is relatively high amongst the many, many Android devices on the market. InvisiBright has been tested and confirmed working on the Droid, Droid 2, Droid X, Droid Incredible, Captivate, Fascinate, EVO 4G, Galaxy S, Desire, Desire HD, Xperia, MyTouch 3G, MyTouch 4G, Nook Color, Optimus One, and the Thunderbolt. If your device is not listed, it’s recommended you check the comments on the app’s download page (link below) before downloading.

Control Your Android Smartphone Without Touching It [VIDEO]

We feature many useful, productive, prim and proper apps here at Sanjeev Rules, but sometimes one comes along which allows us to simply kick back and geek out a little. It’s on these occasions when we just like to tinker for the heck of it, and Prox Pro for Android proves that an app download doesn’t always have to be serious business.

Once upon a time, a phone would boast polyphonic ringtones as a clincher, but in this digital age, we’ve proximity sensors preventing us from making that dreaded accidental call, typing an assortment of random numbers, or opening an app by mistake. Sure, you may on occasions find that the iPhone proclaims there’s "nothing to undo" when you take it out of your pocket, but despite the device’s seemingly guilt-ridden admission, the proximity sensor does – on the whole – improve the smartphone experience with aplomb.

So, with the short sermon on how wonderfully useful they are out of the way, Android developerSemperGumbee has discovered other, rather more exciting vocations for the sensors. He’s the brains behind Prox, a gesture based service which allows you to control certain aspects of your phone without even touching it.

You can launch apps, evoke silent mode, and even expand and contract your status bar if your so wish; all by simply waving your hand close to the phone. The ability to turn your device’s screen off without touching it does have something of the James Bond about it, and it’s all made possible with Prox.

Prox doesn’t mess with the sensors’ duties during calls, so you needn’t worry about your cheek accidentally tapping, toggling or gesturing if you are one of those rare individuals still using your smartphone to make phone calls.

The app’s trump card – the turning off of the screen – requires administrative permission – which, granted, not everybody is one hundred percent comfortable with. Then again, users of apps like this would likely be those partial to a mod or tweak here and there – the type of people whoregularly waive warnings in order to stretch software and hardware to the limits!

It only costs a dollar from the Google Play Store, and if you like such geeky, interesting modifications, this could be right up your alley. If you want to try before you part with your hard-earned, then you can also try out the lite edition.

Root Transformer Prime By Simply Installing An APK

As far as rooting an Android device goes, you’d be hard pushed to find an easier, and more passive method than simply installing an APK.

As usual, the method comes courtesy of XDA Developers, and we’ve provided a simple step-by-step tutorial on how you can root your Transformer and Transformer Prime devices quickly and effectively by using  SparkyRoot.

TP-root

The steps simple to follow, and even if you’re not a seasoned tinkerer, the process should be a doddle. The method is said to work on just about all Transformer Prime firmwares, and as per the developer:

This root app has been confirmed working on current OTAs for the ASUS Transformer (TF101) and Transformer Prime (TF201) Devices.
This includes v9.4.2.15 for the TF201 and v9.2.1.11 for the TF101.

This method (as it is currently implemented) no longer works with the v9.4.2.21 ROM on TF201.

DISCLAIMER: SanjeevRules will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide. The chances of this occurring are extremely minimal, but just for sake of clarification, proceed at your own risk.

This guide, if followed correctly, should have your device rooted in no time.

Step 1: Download and Install SparkyRoot from this XDA thread.

Step 2: Once installed, run, and click step 1, -> Exploit.

Step 3: Click step 2 -> open the ASUS App Backup tool, and backup your apps.

Step 4: Return to this app , and then click step 3 -> Install SuperUser, which will install the SuperUser app.

Step 5: Click step 4 -> Cleanup, and that’s it; your Transformer or Transformer Prime will be rooted.

The release of such tools certainly helps to encourage those feeling a little out of their depth with some of these processes to take the plunge and get involved. Rooting a device unlocks endless possibilities.

Potential malware infiltration, but so long as you proceed with a relative amount of caution, these risks are fairly minimal.

Max Payne Mobile Is Coming To iOS And Android This Month

Although many of those downloading games from the App and Google Play Stores are considered to be “casual games,” there still remains a considerable number of “hardcore gamers,” constantly seeking remakes of the classic beat-em-up’s, RPG’s and first-person shooters seen throughout many generations of console gaming.

Max Payne, which initially made a name for itself on the PC some ten years ago, is finally being ported through to the two most popular mobile platforms, and as usually tends to be the case, the iOS iteration will land slightly before its Android counterpart.

The announcement was made today in a post by Rockstar Games, which has seen another port – the tenth anniversary edition of Grand Theft Auto III – make waves amongst nostalgic gamers since dropping last year for iOS.

The iOS edition of Max Payne will drop next week on Thursday, April 12th, and the Android version will follow nearer the end of the month, landing in Google’s recently-renamed Play Store on April 26th.

Much like the GTA release, this version seems to be a like-for-like release of the original hit, and as we already know, these vigilante-mayhem types handle pretty well on touchscreen devices, so expect an equally impressive affair this time around. It has been been optimized fully for both iOS and Android devices, featuring HD graphics, high-res textures, Social Club connectivity and customizable controls, for those – like me – with fat thumbs.

Max Payne Mobile will support most modern iOS devices, including the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4, iPad 1, iPad 2 and of course, the new third-generation iPad. There’s no such list yet regarding Android device compatibility, but Rockstar assures fans that a full list will be published in the weeks prior to release.

Although, not every remake/port of a classic title has managed to recapture the imagination, I suspect this one will. With Grand Theft Auto even managing to garner a new audience on iOS, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the same sequence of events emerges once Max Payne is released to the masses.

We’ll publish a reminder for you guys on the day when each respective version releases for iOS and Android, so stay tuned for more.
